Greg Mays has been named chairman and CEO of Source Interlink Co. replacing Michael Duckworth, who was chairman. The CEO position previously was held by two interim co-CEOs, Jim Gillis, who is now president and COO of Source Interlink Cos. and Alan Tuchman, who is now president of Source Interlink Distribution, which includes magazine distribution and the Alliance Entertainment unit.
Gillis, Tuchman and Source Interlink Media president Steve Parr all report to Mays.
Mays has over thirty years experience in the supermarket and retailing industry in senior executive positions and most recently was chairman and CEO of Wild Oats Markets until its acquisition by Whole Foods Markets, Inc. late last year.
Prior to that, since 2000 he maintained a consultancy practice providing retail industry expertise and related services to private equity organizations.
Mays is currently a director of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P) and of Simon Worldwide Inc., and previously was a director of Pathmark Stores, Inc.
