Max McAndrew has been named director of talent – San Jose for Nederlander Concerts. In this role McAndrew will be responsible for producing and programming events at the historic San Jose Civic Auditorium.
Nederlander Concerts recently teamed up with Team San Jose to exclusively produce and promote events at the San Jose Civic Auditorium.
Prior to joining Nederlander Concerts, McAndrew was a talent buyer/event producer for House of Blues, Las Vegas/Live Nation, where he worked with current Nederlander COO Alex Hodges. During his tenure with House of Blues, Las Vegas, McAndrew produced numerous sold out events with high profile artists such as Prince, Justin Timberlake, the Killers, Chris Cornell and five consecutive nights with Dave Chappelle.
He worked closely with the Clark County Parks and Recreation Department in booking and promoting Extreme Thing 2008 and 2009, an action sports and music festival featuring rock bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Chiodos, Pennywise and Bad Religion.
Hailing from Providence, Rhode Island, McAndrew began his career as a music agent with ICM in 1994. There he was responsible for all the alternative artists touring in the Southeastern territory. In 1999 McAndrew relocated to Florida and became artist relations manager for House of Blues, Orlando, where he worked with such artists as Outkast, Sevendust and Papa Roach.
He became talent buyer/event producer for Ocesa Presents in New York City in 2001, routing such Latin tours as Enrique Bunbury and Café Tacuba throughout the U.S. In 2003, McAndrew returned to the House of Blues family as a Talent Buyer for House of Blues, Cambridge, Mass.
