Belfast native Max Cooper is not your average electronic musician. He lives and breathes his art, as much interested in the gear and materials as the noises they emit and feelings they help capture and express. His productions are thoughtful, meticulous explorations of emotion and atmosphere, and fans have come to respect his attention to detail both in his mixes and his studio productions.
That high-concept approach and lofty sense of standard comes through in his Balance mix series, of which he now celebrates the third edition with a summer tour around the globe. He releases Balance 030 as a two-disc CD and vinyl set on Friday, alongside a collection of three previously unreleased tunes and remixes, counted among them the ultra-dreamy groove of his remix for classical composer Nils Frahm‘s “For,” which you can enjoy below, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
