A day after Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel, his Glee co-starMatthew Morrison paid tribute to the actor during a Manhattan concert.
Morrison, appearing Sunday at 54 Below, called Monteith a brother and expressed his sadness at the actor’s death,according to the New York Times.

He also changed his opening song to an a capella version of “What I Did for Love,” from A Chorus Line. Lea Michele, who was dating Monteith at the time of his death, performed the song in “Glee”‘s second season.
Morrison told the crowd that he felt “awkward” going ahead with Sunday’s performance but said he would continue “in Cory’s honor.”
Monteith was found dead Saturday at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel. He was 31.
The actor had checked into the hotel July 6 and was expected to check out Saturday, police said. But when he missed his noon checkout time, hotel staff went to his room and discovered his body.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
Over the weekend, Michele’s rep issued a statement asking for her privacy, while his friends held an impromptu wake at his Hollywood Hills home Sunday and other co-stars took to Twitter to express their shock and sadness over Monteith’s death.
Glee has been renewed through season six, with speculation that will be final season. It’s unclear what will happen to Monteith’s character, Finn, who was last seen returning to the New Directions choir room to be a co-coach of the glee club as he continued to pursue teaching at a college in Ohio.
