Rap veteran and No Limit entrepreneur Percy “Master P” Miller has been appointed president of newly-created digital label Udub! Music. Joining the label’s advisory board are Ernie Singleton and Jimmy Rosemond.
Singleton is the former president of urban music at MCA Records and currently president of entertainment consultancy the Singleton Corp. Rosemond heads Czar Entertainment, whose management clients include the Game and Gucci Mane.
Also joining the company is DJ Clue in the role of A&R rep.
A division of Los Angeles-based digital entertainment content provider UrbanWorld Wireless (UWW), Udub! Music is building an R&B/hip-hop roster that includes West Coast rapper 40 Glocc, the Clipse, Bonecrusher, Truth Hurts and Oakland, Calif. rapper Keak Da Sneak. First up on the label’s docket is 40 Glocc, whose release date is Mar. 15.
Each artist will have his own online community (via udubmusic.com) for fans to check out biographical information, music and interviews as well as purchase full-length digital music downloads, ringtones and other exclusive content. Distribution for Udub! has been arranged through current partners including Jamster, T-Mobile and Thumbplay.
