You’ll never get what you don’t ask for, and you never know what you’re going to get if you just ask. Chris McPhadden was about ready to give up his tickets to one of Martin Garrix‘s performances at Amsterdam RAI during Amsterdam Dance Event. He couldn’t afford transportation, but he took a wild chance and tweeted Garrix about his conundrum – and it paid off in spades.
“I bought the tickets to his show when they first went on sale because I was afraid they would sell out,” McPhadden says, “but I went to Sziget in Budapest in August, and traveled America in September, and the flights had went up 300 euros, and I couldn’t afford them anymore, so I chanced my luck with Martin – and well, luck of the Irish he replied.”
Garrix contacted the lucky fan by Twitter direct message and actually bought him round-trip tickets from Dublin to Amsterdam in time to make the show. Does this make Martin Garrix the coolest DJ of all time? In McPhadden’s eyes, absolutely. Does this mean everyone should start tweeting Garrix for plane tickets? Hey now, don’t be a mooch.
But we are very jelly.
