You’ve seen the buddy cop movie where the white officer and black officer have to settle their differences and catch the bad guy, but what if writers added elves, orcs and fairies to the cliche? Not interested? What if you added Will Smith? Still confused? So are we, but the new Netflix original movie Bright is exactly that sci-fi/fantasy, buddy-cop action thriller you didn’t even know you needed.
Since Netflix is putting popular things together in fun new ways, the film’s soundtrack features a less head-scratching collaboration between superstar future pop producer Marshmello and Atlanta rap monoliths Migos. Thankfully, that’s a pairing popular opinion can get behind. “Danger” is a trapped-out, trudging beat that lends the MCs a slow-moving flow. It’s not as Bright as other Marshmello hits, reflecting more Migos’ style than the producer’s signature sound.
“Danger” is out on streaming services Thursday. Music from the soundtrack is available now, while Bright sees full release on Netflix on Dec. 22. Check the teaser trailer starring Marshmello and Migos in the middle of Bright‘s strange cinematic world below.
