It’s true Marshmello has broadened his sugary sound in recent years. The bright and bubbly producer once made trap-pop the cornerstone of his market, but 2017 saw him work with respected singers across the genre spectrum.
There was “Silence,” a chart-topping, mid-tempo brooder with Khalid, and there was the equally dark and moody Selena Gomez collab “Wolves.” He even released that posthumous work with Lil Peep, which wasn’t exactly in line with his usual sound.
If you find yourself missing the old Marshmello, the one that sounds like a rainbow exploding between your ears, fear not. He took to Twitter and promised to release a dance-centric EP for his “day one mellogang.”
Check out the official tweet below, and keep your eyes peeled for that incoming goodness.
With all this new music I’m working on a dance EP for my day one mellogang! Don’t think anything has changed, I’m still the same marshmello you fell in love with. Love you all
