Veteran marketing executives Marshall Eskowitz and Carey Schwartz have departed CAA to launch a new entertainment and consulting practice called Sunset Blvd. The new company, announced Monday (April 2), will offer strategic advisory across partnerships, sponsorships, talent negotiation and other deals for clients.
Prior to forming Sunset Blvd, Eskowitz spent seven years at CAA Marketing overseeing music strategy for brand clients. Notably, he oversaw music efforts for Chipotle Mexican Grill, including the chain’s food and music festivals called Cultivate. Schwartz spent 10 years at CAA, starting in the motion picture department before switching over to marketing where he most recently ran the Coca-Cola business, overseeing entertainment strategy across their vast brand portfolio.
“Today’s marketing landscape demands a strategic and thoughtful approach for marketers to interact within the entertainment and talent communities,” Eskowitz and Schwartz said in a statement announcing the new venture. “We understand how best to work with brands and talent and have spent our careers utilizing this expertise to influence culture and amplify marketing initiatives for brands.”
The name of the new firm is a symbolic nod to the iconic L.A. street that — along with being the title of Billy Wilder’s 1950 film noir classic — is home to landmarks including the Chateau Marmont, Whisky a Go Go and Comedy Store.
