As their single “One More Night” spends a fifth week in the top spot of the Hot 100, Maroon 5 has announced an expansive 2013 headlining tour of North America. Neon Trees and Owl City are set to join the group for the entire 31-date run.
The trek kicks off on Feb. 13, 2013 in Columbus, Ohio, and will run through April 6. General tickets hit the market on Saturday (Oct. 27).
PSY Still Stuck At No. 2 as Maroon 5 Tops Hot 100
While Neon Trees and Owl City recently scored Top 10 hits with “Everybody Talks” and “Good Time,” Maroon 5 watched “One More Night” becomes its third No. 1 on the Hot 100, following “Makes Me Wonder” and “Moves Like Jagger.” “Payphone,” the lead single from the group’s fourth studio album “Overexposed,” peaked at No. 2 on the tally.
The winter/spring tour suggests that lead singer Adam Levine may have to skip the fourth season of “The Voice”; his fellow coaches on the NBC hit, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green, have already announced that they will be taking the spring off from the show to support their latest musical projects. Meanwhile, Maroon 5’s follow-up to “Overexposed” may be coming sooner rather than later — guitarist James Valentine told Billboard last July that the group is “more focused than we’ve ever been” and are already working on new material.
