By now, you’ve probably watched the new music video for Maroon 5‘s “Animals” — or maybe you didn’t, because you came across a few of the stills online and saw all that blood.
Watch Adam Levine Become an American Psycho in ‘Animals’ Video
Well, the cringe-worthy clip got us thinking about what other videos made us say “eww.”

5. Lady Gaga‘s “Paparazzi” (2009 VMAs)
Gaga’s live performances are legendary, but during her 2009 VMA performance of “Paparazzi,” she literally stunned (see: Diddy) when a little more than three minutes in, she appeared to have been stabbed, cut or shot, as blood started dripping down her torso. It only became more cringe-worthy from there. Mother Monster was hoisted up into the air and ended the performance “hanging” as the crowd watched her lifeless body swing slowly back and forth with the sound of camera flash bulbs echoing in the background.
4. Big Data‘s “Dangerous” (featuring Joywave)
A series of bloody, gory storyboard concepts come to life in this video from Brooklyn electronic pop group Big Data.
3. Marilyn Manson‘s “Sweet Dreams”
After watching this video, you will experience the exact opposite of what the title suggests. Seriously, this is what nightmares are made of…
2. Soundgarden‘s “Black Hole Sun”
Who wasn’t freaked out by this video, where in a seemingly perfect town, everyone’s faces become severely distorted. And who can forget, a young girl devilishly watches as a Barbie doll is roasted on a grill, while an actual Barbie-like girl lies roasting in the sun. And what was going on with the woman and the big dog in the bathtub?
1. Robbie Williams‘ “Rock DJ”
Robbie Williams starts off sexy, as viewers watch him strip down to his skivvies, and at one point he’s completely nude to the delight of the models roller-skating around him — but it’s evident they want more. To appease them, we watch in horror as Robbie rips his flesh off (look at those abs!) for the cannibal models, until he’s nothing but a singing skeleton.
