One fan who attended a Maroon 5 concert earlier this week got more than she bargained for.
While sitting in the front row at the band’s show in Toronto on Monday (March 16), Stephanie Green got hit in the head with frontman Adam Levine’s microphone. In video posted online, Levine’s mic seemed to stop working at one point during the show, which then caused him to throw it. When he did, it landed in the crowd and on Green.
After it hit her, he then went over to apologize and brought her up to the stage. He later told the crowd that the PA system failed, which caused the microphone issue. “I feel terrible that I’ve perhaps wounded this young fan,” he said. She was then invited to watch the show from the side of the stage.
Green later opened up about the encounter to City News Toronto, calling the experience “just literally the best day. My dream come true. I never thought in a million years this would happen to me.”
She said she saved up for that front row seat, which despite the small injury, may have paid off for her after having the chance to meet Levine.
“He keeps apologizing. (I said) ‘I love you, I’m happy, I’m OK!'” she told City News. “I was on stage, back and forth, freaking out. (He) hugged me…grabbed face, held my hands!”
