Mark Ronson is not a happy customer of JAY-Z‘s streaming service Tidal after learning that the rapper’s new album, 4:44, is only available to those with Tidal accounts established prior to June 26.
“I signed up for Tidal solely to listen to a Jay Z album, which turns out is the only thing I can’t listen to on Tidal,” the “Uptown Funk” producer wrote on Twitter. “Why the f**k else would I be signing up for this bull ish?”
It seems Ronson has since decided to cancel with his Tidal account, writing “shortest subscription ever” in a tweet attached to a screenshot of a message from Tidal explaining the restriction. “JAY-Z 4:44 is only accessible to Sprint/TIDAL customers and all TIDAL accounts established prior to June 26th during the exclusive period,” the message reads.
4:44 was released as a Sprint/Tidal exclusive today (June 30) after an elusive marketing campaign, and is available to pre-established Tidal subscribers and Sprint customers only. It’s unclear for now how long the exclusivity will last.

According to another tweet, Ronson’s frustration also stems from the fact that he’s been a loyal buyer of Jay’s albums since day one.
I’ve. Bought. Every. Jay Z Album. The. Day. Of. Release. Usually. On. Vinyl. At. Rock N Soul Records

But despite his album-accessing issues, Ronson apparently somehow managed to get a listen of 4:44, and suddenly his frustration turned to adoration for JAY-Z.
Tidal gripe aside. It’s pretty f**king incredible so far #444album
