Mariah Carey has taken the next big step in the celebrity pregnancy playbook, posing nude with her baby bump in full glory on the cover of Life & Style magazine.
In an interview accompanying the revealing photo spread, Carey, who is due to have twins in a few weeks, tells the magazine, “I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience. My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.”

Her hubby Nick Cannon also chimes in with excitement, saying, “I thought I couldn’t love Mariah more…but I have a whole new appreciation and admiration for her.”
Carey had a bit of a scare just a little over a week ago, when she was admitted the hospital on Mar. 27 for early contractions. “Now I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who’ve had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples,” she tells the mag. “We need to have Mother’s Day once a week!”
Of course, Mimi isn’t the first star to bare her pregnant belly on the cover of a magazine. Britney Spears posed nude for Harper’s Bazaar in August 2006 with the future Jayden James Federline, while Christina Aguilera and her bump graced Marie Claire in January 2008, just months before she gave birth to son Max Liron Bratman.
