Marc Jacobs went blonde this week. Well, technically his shop did.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs women’s boutique on Bleecker Street in NYC’s West Village neighborhood had a drastic facelift, receiving a jolt of electric energy as it was transformed into a pop-up Blondie shop trumpeting the band’s new album, “Panic of Girls.”
The Blondie-drenched store sells an array of Blondie products ranging from books to T-shirts. Iconic lead singer Debbie Harry made a brief appearance at the shop to check out her very own shrine in person and to muse on Jacobs’ overall fabulousness.
“I’ve had a longtime association with Marc Jacobs since the early days at CBGB, and he’s always been so supportive of the downtown scene,” Harry said. “I love and admire the fact that, while he’s so successful in the world of high fashion, he’s never forgotten his roots.”
