South Korean vocal-pop group Mamamoo shines like diamonds in the music video for their new song, “Gleam.”
Released today (July 23), the breezy track features a catchy tropical pop melody and snapping beat, over which the members of Mamamoo harmoniously sing about how the world shines when with a lover.
The song’s title in Korean is a play on the word for “gleam” or “shin” (“?,” pronounced bit or bich depending on the conjugation) and reads similarly — “da bichina (? ???)” to South Korea’s Davich Optical Chain, which Mamamoo are promotional models for. Accordingly, the song features frequent references to eyes and optical wear, and the music video for “Gleam” puts a heavy emphasis on the glasses the four women are wearing throughout as they sing and perform the song.
The new single follows Mamamoo’s March release “Gogobebe” and their White Wind album. The quartet will appear at KCON 2019 Los Angeles in August.
