Madonna isn’t too pleased with rules involving censorship of the female body on social media — and she’s letting everyone know about it on Instagram.
The 56-year-old Queen of Pop recently took a stand by posting a topless black-and-white photo of herself on Instagram that covered her breasts. The racy pic is from her 1992 book, Sex.
She captioned it, “Why is it ok to show ass but not breasts? Drowning in the hypocrisy of social media.” The singer also used the hashtags #artforfreedom, #UnapologeticbItch and #rebelheart.
Madonna previously had a topless photo of herself removed by Instagram. She isn’t the only artist who has challenged Instagram’s policies. Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and comedian Chelsea Handler have also challenged the popular social media site’s censorship rules.
