Eleven-year old Lyric Street Records, home to Rascal Flatts and Bucky Covington, among others, is launching a sister imprint, Carolwood Records.
Carolwood will be overseen by Kevin Herring, current Lyric Street Records VP of promotion. National duties will be co-led Chris Palmer, current Lyric Street Northeast regional and John Ettinger, former Mercury Nashville VP of promotion. Stephanie Keshe, current Lyric Street national coordinator, will make the move to Carolwood as regional promoter. Dave Collins, formerly in the programming department at KMLE Phoenix, rounds out the promotion team. Recent Middle Tennessee State University graduate Katie McCartney will be Carolwood’s national coordinator.
Lyric Street president Randy Goodman, senior VP of A&R Doug Howard and VP of marketing, sales and media Greg McCarn will provide oversight for both imprints. Dale Turner, current Lyric Street VP of promotion administration will take on a new role as VP radio marketing for both Lyric Street and Carolwood.
Apart from Palmer and Keshe’s departure, Lyric Street’s regional promotion team will remain intact under the continued leadership of national senior director Renee Leymon. The search for Palmer’s replacement in the Northeast region is underway. Jackie Schwarz, most recently with Rascal Flatts’s management company Turner/Nichols, will join Lyric Street as promotion coordinator.
Like Lyric Street, the new label’s name has ties to Walt Disney history. Carolwood was a residential address for Disney but became famous as the name he gave to his five acre, backyard railroad, the Carolwood (Pacific Railroad).
An announcement regarding artists signed to the Carolwood imprint are expected soon.
