As criticism made it’s way onto Lupe Fiasco‘s Twitter timeline, after calling President Obama a terrorist on CBS’s show, “What’s Trending,” the Chicago rapper was in the middle of shooting promos for AT&T’s ‘Music For You‘ concert series.
Lupe Fiasco on Calling Obama a Terrorist: ‘I’ve Got Nothing to Clarify’
“It’s a super interactive joint,” Lupe Fiasco said on ‘Music For You.’ “Fans not only get the opportunity to pick songs that they want me to perform but they can even choose what I’m gonna wear on stage.” AT&T’s concert series will feature appearances by Jason Derülo, Miguel, All Time Low, Tinie Tempah, Gym Class Heroes in five cities.
Before jumping on ‘Music For You,’ Lupe Fiasco stopped through the ‘2011 MTV Movie Awards’ to perform his recent single, “Out of My Head,” with Trey Songz. Fiasco tells Billboard.com that we should expect the visuals for the collaboration at the end of this month, June.
While promoting “Lasers,” months back, Lupe Fiasco expressed a slight distaste towards the album. Fiasco says he wasn’t fully satisfied with the final product. “Me being an artist, I’m never happy with my work, because I don’t ever think it’s finished. It’s hard for an artist to walk away from a piece and say, ‘okay, that’s done.'”
Lupe Fiasco is ready to move onto the next album though. Fiasco tells Billboard.com that he is currently in the studio working on his fourth studio album. While there’s no official release date, Lupe Fiasco sounded optimistic. “It’s really taking the lessons I learned from “Lasers,” and applying that to “Food & Liquor.” That’s really it.”
