“The Star-Spangled Banner” got a bit of a country makeover at Super Bowl 2017.
Georgia-born singer Luke Bryan brought his American pride to the National Anthem prior to kickoff at Houston’s NRG Stadium Sunday (Feb. 5). Despite being known for his catchy country tunes, Bryan took a slower approach to the patriotic tune that showcased his impressive vocals — with a little twang, of course.
Before taking the field for his National Anthem performance, Bryan declared his support for his home state’s team, the Atlanta Falcons. He tweeted a picture with his dad — who was decked in Falcons gear — using the team’s slogan “Rise Up” in a hashtag.
