Singer/songwriter Luis Fonsi, continuing his most successful year to date as a recording artist, received 13 nominations for Univision’s 6th annual Premios Juventud Awards.
The awards show, which will air live July 16 on the Univision Network, is a youth-themed show which gives honors in music, fashion, film sports and pop culture. Fonsi, whose nominations include “Red Hot Artist” and “Favorite Pop Star,” received more nominations than any other entertainer in the history of the awards.
Nominations are determined by fans who vote online through Univision.com. Former RBD member Dulce María received 10 nominations, including “She’s Got Style;” Wisin & Yandel took seven nods, including “The Perfect Combo;” and another former RBD, Anahí, had six nominations. Winners for the awards will also be determined by online voters on univision.com, with polls closing June 18.
This year, Univision and Premios Juventud will also award scholarships in academics, sports and musical achievement. The winners will be announced live on the show.
