Lucinda Williams provided one of the 14 songs selected for the Walt Disney Records release that will accompany the film “The Lone Ranger.”
Billboard has the exclusive premiere of “Everything But the Truth”:
“I’m thrilled with the way this song came out and I’m really looking forward to playing it live,” Williams said. “Actually, I wasn’t sure I was even going to have time to write and record this before leaving for a European tour but it all came together in a couple of days. Sometimes the best things happen that way.”
“The Lone Ranger: Wanted” will be released July 2, the day before the film opens in theaters. The album features tracks from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Sara Watkins, Dave Alvin, Iron & Wine and others.
Gore Verbinski, the film’s director, said the songs are by the artists whose music was listened to each day on the way to the studio.
