Louis The Child has been playing festivals around the world this summer, from Tomorrowland in Belgium to Lollapalooza in their native Chicago. With so many stages to play, the dance duo have mastered the art of the summer jam, whether it’s their own hit “Better Not” or a remix of Chance The Rapper’s “All Night” — and they most recently proved that with their latest single, “Too Close” featuring Wrabel.
For their Takeover Tuesday playlist, Louis The Child wanted to give fans a glimpse into some of the songs that are on their own summer playlists. Of course, they picked some tunes from fellow dance artists, like Madeon‘s “Dream Dream Dream” and Passion Pit‘s “The Reeling.” But the 14-song playlist also features rock groups Brockhampton and Death Cab For Cutie, as well as older acts such as De La Soul and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, showing LTC’s many influences.
Along with the songs, the Louis The Child guys (Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett) also share how they discovered some of these songs (including NBA Street Vol. 2!) as well as what they love about others. No matter the reason, Louis The Child has clearly been jamming all summer long.
Check out Louis The Child’s Takeover Tuesday playlist, as well as some explanations for their choices, below. (Note: De La Soul’s “Me Myself and I” is not available on Spotify. Listen to it here.)
