No matter what the news says or how desperate things become, love is always alive in our hearts if we keep it. It’s a state of mind, a state of emotion, and you can go to it anywhere you are in the world if you open yourself up to its tenderness. Dance pop duo Louis the Child tapped into that feeling for its latest song, a collaboration with LA-based producer Elohim.
“This song is very special to us, and carries a message we feel is very important especially considering the state of our world at the moment,” Louis the Child says in an emailed statement. “We need more love, and we hope this song helps spread love.”
“Love is Alive” is soft and soothing with rolling bass and hefty though sparring drums. Elohim’s voice is echoed and filtered, adding to her already interesting sound. The listener can hear how much of themselves the trio infused into the song.
“When you’re writing from your heart and all intentions are pure, serendipitous magic seems to occur,” Elohim says in an emailed statement. “Creating this song from scratch, just the three of us locked in a room for eight hours, was the start of a beautiful friendship.”
“Love is Alive” is out now. Listen to it on Spotify and check Louis the Child’s upcoming tour dates below.
