There’s more to love about LouFest this year. The lineup for the two-day festival in St. Louis was released early Tuesday, with The Killers, Wilco, The National, Alabama Shakes and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros atop the bill.
The growing festival, now in its fourth year and produced by Listen Live Entertainment and C3 Presents, returns to Central Field in Forest Park Sept. 7-8 with an added third stage. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 3.
The bill will also include My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, Local Natives, Fitz and the Tantrums, Toro Y Moi, Trampled by Turtles, Walk the Moon, Youngblood Hawke, Ra Ra Riot and others.
Local favorites Kentucky Knife Fight, whose twang-punk sound mirrors its raucous name, and rapper Tef Poe will be on hand, as will native son Jeff Tweedy and Wilco, the band he formed in St. Louis before relocating to Chicago in the mid-’90s. It’s a safe bet fans will hear at least one long cut by Tweedy’s former band, the alt-country pioneers Uncle Tupelo.
