Following the success of its country music festivals “Beyond Nashville” in 2001 and “Further Beyond Nashville” last year, London’s Barbican venue is planning “Way Beyond Nashville,” a series of 30 concerts to take place Oct. 20-Nov. 20.
The event will include shows at Barbican and nine other London locations. Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, the Mavericks, Caitlin Cary, the Handsome Family and John Hiatt & Robert Cray are all confirmed for the event, which will be supported by live reports and special programs on BBC digital radio station 6 Music.
Other participating London venues include Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Hammersmith Apollo and the Borderline. An accompanying compilation album of the same name will be released Oct. 27 in the U.K. by Casual.
