Rapper LL Cool J has teamed up with Sears department stores to produce a new clothing line. The collection, which hits retail outlets in September, will be carried across 450 Sears stores, and will include apparel for juniors, kids and young men.
By partnering with the rapper, Sears hopes to expand its reach with multi-cultural shoppers, particularly African Americans. It also plans on expanding the collection to more of the retailer’s 2,400 locations by the end of the year.
In related new, Rapper LL Cool J is gearing up to release his next album, “Exit 13,” July 18, his last set via Def Jam. LL Cool J’s last album, 2006’s “Todd Smith,” has sold 335,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
