
Lizzo just delivered a stellar performance on the last episode of Saturday Night Live for this year and has a ton to look forward to in the next — including the 2020 Grammy Awards, where she’s the most-nominated artist — so, no. She will not be tolerating input from any haters on social media at this time.
On Monday (Dec. 23), the “Good As Hell” artist responded to a tweet conflating her weight and her rising popularity, and makes the obtuse assertion that her success is somehow connected to “the obesity epidemic in America.”
Lizzo’s response was a swift, and accurate, 140-character lesson in self-defense: “I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you.”
