Seminal guitar rock outfit Living Colour has reunited and begun lining up dates for a handful of U.S. tour dates, kicking off Aug. 1 in Old Bridge, N.J., according to the As previously reported, Living Colour bassist Doug Wimbish and drummer Will Calhoun, along with Parliament/Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell and Bad Brains guitarist Dr. Know, are recording an album with rapper Mos Def under the moniker Jack Johnson. No release date has been firmed up for the set. Meanwhile, Living Colour vocalist Corey Glover can be seen in the upcoming film “Reunion 81.”
Of Living Colour’s three albums, the band’s 1988 Epic debut, “Vivid,” featuring the hit “Cult of Personality,” is the group’s most successful, having been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The set peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200. “Stain,” the band’s last album, has sold 233,000 units in the U.S., according to SoundScan. It peaked at No. 26 on The Billboard 200.
