Live Nation and Lionsgate are developing an unscripted series for Pop called I’m With the Band that will focus on a musical artist or band and their entourage as they prepare for and embark on tour, Billboard has learned.
The show was created by Live Nation Productions, which is producing the series in association with Lionsgate Television, with Heather Parry and Michael Rapino serving as executive producers for Live Nation.
This is the second project this week announced by Live Nation with Parry and Rapino attached, following the Colin Hanks-directed Eagles of Death Metal documentary that will air on HBO in February.
I’m With the Band will be part documentary, personality profile and video diary, giving viewers an inside look into what it takes to produce and dominate a successful tour. Characters will range across all parts of a tour — from managers to bodyguards, promoters, publicists, choreographers, chefs, assistants, make-up artists, opening acts, crew and label executives, to name a few — as the stars focus on rehearsals, sound checks, recording sessions, promo sessions and more.
