Continuing its expansion into Asian markets, Live Nation has teamed up with B’In Music International Limited to form Live Nation Taiwan.
“Taiwan is one of the strongest economies in Asia and its proximity to the established touring markets of Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong make it an ideal stop on any Asian tour,” Alan Ridgeway, Live Nation president of international and emerging markets, said in a statement.
The joint venture will be based in Taipei and head up by 20-year industry veteran Ngiam Kwang Hwa, who has promoted concerts by such artists as Mayday, G-Dragon, Jennifer Lopez and Chicago.
“The combination of Live Nation’s international touring power and its Asian network along with B’In’s local experience and its roster of Taiwanese acts will enable our new company to rapidly become the leading promoter in Taiwan,” Ngiam Kwang Hwa said in a statement.
The first collaboration between Live Nation and management company B’In Music will be a North American and European tour by Taiwan rock band Mayday.
Live Nation now operates in 10 Asian countries, with offices in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Singapore.
Last November, Live Nation extended its marketing activities across Asia through a union with communications agency Parallel Contemporary Music. The two companies created Live Nation Marketing Partnerships Asia Limited, with the goal of providing live music based marketing solutions for international and local brands across Asia.
