City of Hope’s 2016 Sprit of Life gala, being held Thursday, Nov. 10, in Santa Monica, will feature a special performance by Little Big Town, the event’s organizers have announced.
In addition, Afropop singer Davido and Christian artist Michael W. Smith will be on hand to support the independent research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
Attorney Joel Katz, who heads the entertainment business at Greenberg Traurig, will be honored with the City of Hope Spirit of Life Award for his outstanding achievements in business and dedication to philanthropic causes. Among the music industry executives expected to toast the veteran lawyer are Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge, Sony Music chairman and CEO Doug Morris, Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow and manager Scooter Braun, whose SB Projects represents Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Ariana Grande, among others.
