“Celebrate” is reportedly the last song Houston recorded before her untimely death on Feb. 11 at the age of 48. Houston plays Sparks’ mother in “Sparkle,” which is due to hit theaters on Aug. 17. A release date has not yet been announced for the original soundtrack to the film.
Along with Sparks, whose rendition of “I Will Always Love You” earned a tremendous ovation from the the BBMAs audience, John Legend was on hand to honor the singer with a performance of “The Greatest Love of All.” Watch the full show-stopping tribute below:
