Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard‘s series that showcases artists’ very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard‘s Spotify account. The curated set features the artists’ favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.
This week’s spin comes from SHAED. The D.C. electro-pop trio — comprised of vocalist Chelsea Lee and multi-instrumentalist twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst — have had quite a breakthrough year on the heels of their crossover hit “Trampoline,” which earned a synch in an Apple ad campaign and peaked at No. 8 on Shazam’s U.S. chart, with 17,000 daily Shazams. The fast rise earned the band support slots on tours alongside Charli XCX, Bishop Briggs, and X Ambassadors, as well as sets at Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival, Firefly, Summerfest, and more.
After the release of their latest EP Melt this September, the pop newcomers are in full-on celebration mode. This Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), they’re opting to look ahead to their all-time favorite holiday of the year — Christmas — with this week’s joyful holiday-tinged #TBT Mixtape, featuring classics by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dolly Parton and more.
“On November 22nd at 11:59 pm we live and breathe Christmas,” the band says. “This playlist has the best jams for all the crazy Santa freaks out there!”
Give the playlist a spin and also check out some throwback snaps of the group below.
