At last night’s (July 27) Home Entertainment 2005 awards, Disney/Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and Lions Gate Entertainment’s “Saw” were the big winners with three awards each.
“The Incredibles” won sell-through title and marketing campaign of the year from a major studio, and family title of the year. “Saw” won sell-through title and rental title of the year from an independent studio and marketing campaign of the year from a major studio.
The sleeper title of the year was awarded to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s “Napoleon Dynamite.”
New Line Home Entertainment’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (extended edition) was honored for DVD extras of the year from a major studio, and Anchor Bay Entertainment’s “Dawn of the Dead: Ultimate Edition” nabbed DVD extras of the year from an independent studio.
Other winners include “Metallica: Some Kind of Monster” (Paramount Home Entertainment) for music DVD of the year.
