Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution tour with My Chemical Romance will get underway July 25 in a city to be announced, according to organizers. The trek will run through Sept. 3 in Englewood, Colo., and feature Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Placebo and Julien-K on the mainstage. Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, the Bled, Styles of Beyond and Madina Lake will appear on the smaller Revolution Stage.
Tour sponsors include Major League Baseball, “Halo 3” for Xbox 360, Monster Energy Drink, Etnies and Nowwhat.com. Tickets go on sale May 19; $1 from each will be donated to American Forests as part of a tree-planting initiative.
Linkin Park will be promoting its first album in four years, “Minutes to Midnight,” due May 15 via Machine Shop/Warner Bros. First single “What I’ve Done” is already No. 1 on both Billboard’s Modern and Mainstream Rock charts.
“Obviously, the market being the way it is, you can’t have the kind of expectations you had four years ago. You can’t expect expectations to be going up when everything else is going down,” Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda recently told Billboard. “It doesn’t mean we put any less love into it. We feel like this record is really good, and we want people to hear it. What good is an important message if nobody hears it?”
