Using the hashtag #linstagram, Miranda asked viewers to “name the Disney movie” before belting through classics from Aladdin (“One Jump Ahead”), The Little Mermaid (“Under the Sea”), Mulan (“I’ll Make a Man Out of You”) and Beauty and the Beast (“Gaston”).
The clips also feature fun cameos by Miranda’s Moana co-stars Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. “As a specimen, yes, he’s intimidating. Oh my god, that is The Rock!” Miranda jokingly sings during “Gaston,” while Johnson flexes in the background.
Miranda wrote music for Moana, an animated film about a Polynesian princess who embarks on a journey across the sea. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 23. He will also star opposite Emily Blunt in Disney’s upcoming sequel to Mary Poppins.
