With controversy still lingering over its recent departure from the Big Day Out tour in Australia, Limp Bizkit has announced plans for a summer tour of Europe. After a two-night stand May 9-10 in Mexico City, Bizkit will head to Amsterdam on May 16 and tour the continent through a June 22 appearance in Zurich.
The jaunt will encompass appearances at major European festivals Rock Im Park (June 1, Nuremberg, Germany), Rock Am Ring (June 3, Nurburgring, Germany), Pinkpop (June 4, Landgraaf, Holland), and Hulfstred (June 14, Hulfstred, Sweden).
Limp Bizkit has seen its European fortunes reach new levels in recent weeks. Late last month, the band hit No. 1 on both the U.K. singles and album chart, with “Rollin'” and “Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water” (Interscope), respectively. “Starfish” is No. 14 on The Billboard 200 in its 16th week.
As previously reported, Limp Bizkit abruptly left the Big Day Out festival tour after a disastrous stop in Sydney, during which scores of fans were injured. A 15-year-old girl who suffered a heart attack after being caught in the surge of the 55,000-strong crowd later died from her injuries. A full investigation into the incident is underway.
