Lil Wayne’s long awaited “Tha Carter IV” is almost here.
The MC confirmed to MTV News that the fourth installment in his “Carter” series is officially completed and will drop in late August.
“The album is done and it’ll be out August 29,” he said. “It’s totally done.”
Though “Tha Carter IV” will be here shortly, Wayne is also issuing an apology for the delay by way of a new mixtape, appropriately titled “Sorry for the Wait.” The 10-track album will be similar to his 2009 offering, “No Ceilings,” featuring Wayne’s signature raps over other artist’s beats.
“Tha Carter IV” will include Weezy’s slowed down ode to the ladies, “How to Love,” which he admits was inspired by the late Tupac Shakur.
“That song is just sweeping the world. It’s touching every woman, that’s what it was for,” Wayne told MTV News. “It was like Tupac had ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ and it was a message to women and little girls across the world just to keep your head up even though things are hard.”
Keep an eye out for “Sorry for the Wait,” which will be released on either July 12 or 13.
