Lil Wayne has lost a pair of lawsuits over the “The Carter” documentary, according to TMZ.
A judge reportedly ordered the Young Money head honcho to pay $2,195,000 after ruling in favor of a countersuit filed by producer Quincy Jones III over the documentary, tossing out Lil Wayne’s original suit. He originally sued over the use of his music and his “scandalous portrayal” in the 2009 indie film, which followed the MC before and during his “Tha Carter III” album release.
However, Wayne failed to appear in court to defend his allegations thanks to a medical emergency, with his lawyer playing the rapper’s deposition footage instead. The judge dubbed Wayne’s deposition interview “irresponsible.”
It’s been a busy year in the courtroom for Weezy, who previously settled lawsuits from producers David Kirkwood and Deezle over production royalties from “Tha Carter III.”
And in bad news for Wayne fans, his “I Am Not a Human Being 2” album has been pushed from its Dec. 11 release date — it’s now expected in 2013. The album, a sequel to his 2010 release, has been pushed before, with a previously scheduled release date in November.
