Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus has officially reached Diamond status. For a song to be certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), it must reach sales (and streaming equivalent sales) of 10 million units.
The country/hip-hop crossover is the first song to be certified diamond by the RIAA in 2020, and is the fastest in history to reach this milestone.

“As an artist building myself up, I’m going to have to continue to make other moments,” Lil Nas X recently told Billboard of life after a smash hit. “But it’s not something that I’m upset about or anything. I mean, maybe when I’m out in public and someone asks for a picture and they’re like, ‘Where is your hat?’ ”
