Onlookers got more than they expected when Aguilera’s Liberation Tour stopped in at New York City. Bill and Hillary Clinton were spotted among the revellers, Xtina belted out her classics, including “Genie in a Bottle,” “Beautiful,” “Dirrty” and “Fighter,” A Great Big World assisted on “Say Something,” and a gay couple got engaged. But it was Lil’ Kim’s cameo that got everyone reaching for their cellphones.
The 2001 version of “Lady Marmalade” was cut for Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! soundtrack, with Aguilera, Kim, Mýa and Pink on vocals. The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Official U.K. Singles Chart, and the foursome shared the stage at the 2002 Grammys. Ever since, the idea of a live reunion has been the stuff of dreams.
Mýa recounted the supergroup’s recording session last year in an interview with ET Canada. “But no, I don’t remember any cat fights, we just got the job done. And we came to give a show at the end of the day. So it was a lot of fun and I really hope that we can reunite and do the song,” she said.
The Liberation Tour, produced by Live Nation, is Aguilera’s first tour in more than a decade and rolls on Thursday night for a second show at Radio City.

Tonight’s Christina Aguilera concert was the future that liberals wanted: an intercultural gay marriage proposal, a beautiful Latina trans icon, Bill and Hillary Clinton & Lil’ Kim! Thank you, @xtina, for a wonderful GAY evening! ?–?—-? #LiberationTour pic.twitter.com/npRmMIKVc8
