Liam Payne celebrated the sixth anniversary of the X Factor audition that made him one-fifth (later one-fourth) of One Direction on Twitter yesterday.
Wow! six years since my audition so much has changed in my life from amazing adventures to life love and happiness thank you for everything

A 14-year-old Liam auditioned for X Factor (U.K.) back in 2008 and made it to Simon Cowell’s house, but he was unfortunately cut. Two years later, 16-year-old Liam returned to the X Factor stage in baggy jeans and a plain white tee and put a Sinatra-esque spin on Arthur Hamilton’s “Cry Me a River” — and the rest is boy band history.
