Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis and Beady Eye career is gathering pace. The veteran British rock ‘n’ roll frontman has a new publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, he recently bagged a recording contract and he’s said to be making progress on his debut solo album.
Music publishing giant Warner/Chappell this week welcomed Gallagher to its roster, and noted the artist had written new material for his first solo album, expected out in 2017.
“I am so pleased to be able to welcome Liam to the Warner/Chappell Family,” says Mike Smith, managing director of Warner/Chappell Music U.K. on the signing of Gallagher. “He is one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll stars that this country has ever produced. It is thrilling to see him develop as a writer and these songs will take him to new levels of success and recognition.”
Gallagher also has a recording deal with sister company Warner Brother Records.
The charismatic, surly and never-short-for-words performer fronted Oasis over a stellar career which yielded 77 million album sales, chart records, eight U.K. No. 1 singles and six BRIT Awards. Gallagher’s next project, Beady Eye, bagged two U.K. top 5 albums before it was disbanded in 2014.
