Liam Gallagher paid tribute to fallen fellow Mancunians as he launched his solo career proper Tuesday night (May 30) with a fundraising concert featuring some Oasis classics and several new songs.
The veteran frontman told Manchester’s O2 Ritz that “normal service has resumed” as he tore into tracks from his forthcoming solo album release As You Were, including the song “Wall Of Glass,” which is slated to arrive this week.

According to the BBC, Gallagher called out “Manchester, I love you,” as he closed his 14-song set with a “moving” a cappella rendition of “Live Forever,” one of six Oasis songs he covered on the night. “Look after yourselves,” he told the audience.
Gallagher donated all proceeds from the sold-out concert to the victims of last week’s fatal blast.
Gallagher’s solo debut is expected to drop in 2017 and will be the first through a pair of new deals – a publishing arrangement with Warner/Chappell and a recording contract with its sister company Warner Brother Records — both announced last year.
