Performances of Beatles music from Broken Bells, Sting and the Flaming Lips will be part of a weeklong tribute next week on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
In advance of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first performance on the “Ed Sullivan Show,” Letterman will devote Feb. 3-7 to Beatles music. Letterman’s show is shot at the theater where the Beatles appeared on Feb. 9, 1964.

Broken Bells, the duo James Mercer and Danger Mouse, will perform “And I Love Her” on Feb. 3; Sting will play “Drive My Car” on Feb. 4; and Lenny Kravitz will appear on Feb. 5. Sean Lennon, the son of John Lennon, will join the Flaming Lips to perform “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” on Feb. 6. The lineup for Feb. 7 will be announced next week.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are scheduled to be interviewed by Letterman for the CBS special “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles,” which will air on Feb. 9. The special will include McCartney, Starr, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Gary Clark Jr. and others performing the music of the Beatles.
