K-pop singer Lee Hi made her long-awaited return to the scene today with the release of her first EP 24°C today (May 26). Arriving three years since the release of her 2016 Seoulite album, it’s fronted by the reggaeton-infused dance track “No One,” which includes B.I of boy band iKON as a featured rapper.
A groovy tune full of vibrant percussion, smooth melodies, and quirky synths, “No One” expresses the longing of a lonely person waiting for a lover to arrive with a knock on her door. Throughout, Lee’s soulful, confident vocals interact with the swaggering tone of B.I as they relay the pining emotions of the lyrics.
“No One” was released through a fantastical music video that features Lee as an imaginative dreamer longing for love, while B.I stands alone on a planet like The Little Prince. As the song comes to a close, Lee encounters a masked partner wearing a cat head with whom she dances with, but it ends with a final shot revealing the original, girlish version of Lee on her own, watching the pair dancing on a television screen.
Along with the single, Lee Hi’s 24°C features four other songs, including “No Way” with G.Soul and “1,2” featuring Choi Hyunsuk of upcoming boy band Treasure.
