Lauren Alaina announced Monday that she and her longtime boyfriend Alex Hopkins have called off their engagement.
The American Idol alum shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing, “While we still have love for eachother, we’ve grown into very different people over the last six years.”
The high school sweethearts were always open about the ups and downs in their relationship, and Alaina thanked fans for their support.
“We ask for grace, compassion, and respect in this time,” she added in the caption. “I don’t regret a single second with Alex. I wish him the very best. Please do the same.”
