Los Angeles area Cherokee Studios has been slated for demolition to make way for eco-friendly artist lofts. The Cherokee Studios will close its doors on August 31 after 32 years and over 300 gold or platinum selling efforts.
The Robb brothers – Dee, Joe and Bruce – who founded Cherokee Studios in 1971 will continue to be involved with the property, serving as designers for the acoustic loft recording studios that will replace Cherokee Studios.
Cherokee Studios has played host to a veritable who’s who of the music industry, with Elton John, Madonna, Frank Zappa, Kanye West, Frank Sinatra and David Bowie all cutting tracks on site.
