Even as Donald Trump’s mouth gets crazier and more offensive, the likelihood of his presidential run on the Republican ticket doesn’t seem to be deteriorating. In an interview with Metal Insider, Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe says that if the businessman-turned-reality TV star becomes our next president, he’s leaving.
“If he is the president, though, I am leaving America ’till he’s gone,” Blythe said.
The metal singer, however, isn’t entirely convinced the Trump presidential run is legit. He opined that Trump could be a stooge for the Republican party, operating so far right that whoever steps in as frontrunner after him will naturally appear preferable. (Incidentally, there are some who have suggested he’s a Hillary Clinton stooge trying to sabotage the Republican party. In short, people just can’t believe he’s for real.)

“I don’t know if he really wants to be President. He might just be a foil for the Republican party to say, ‘We’ve gotta be tough right now in our international relations policy, but not with this guy,’ so they’ll get someone who looks more moderate into office. They’ll say, ‘We still need to be strong, hawkish right now, but no, not Donald Trump.’ I mean, it’s ludicrous the things that he says. He’s making shit up,” Blythe told Metal Insider.
“I’m trying to read between the lines here and see if that’s what’s going on. If they’re in a back room somewhere and Donald Trump is saying, ‘I’m gonna say that we should pull a Nazi Germany maneuver and make all Muslims wear a yellow crescent moon on their arm,’ like the Gestapo did with the Jews in Nazi Germany.”
Blythe certainly wouldn’t be the first to compare Trump to Hitler — the orange-skinned mogul’s alleged friend Russell Simmons compared him to history’s greatest monster just this week. Then again, any politician with any degree of success has been compared to Hitler at some point in their career.
